Photobomb of the Week honors go to the Great White shark which exhibited pinpoint timing during what was to be a routine Instagram highlight reel for California surfer Tyler Warren. Photographer Jordan Anast hadn’t realized the interloper he’d captured until reviewing footage after the conclusion of the San Onofre Club Surf Contest. What he haphazardly chalked up to ocean spray resolved into instant gold. What’s not included — and just out of frame — in the remarkable shot is the lucky California Brown Pelican the hungry shark slaked for. The pelican, sensing he was being fitted for a silver platter, smartly pivoted up and away to safety. The 14-foot shark can rest assured that its acrobatic efforts did not go unnoticed. 10 for degree of difficulty. 10 for effort. 10 for landing. 10+ for thunder stolen!
