Not sure if you caught this but here’s today’s answer to the time-tested question: What are the French up to now? A project 60 years in the making, it represents the final display of artistic audaciousness that could have only been cooked up in the unorthodox imaginations of famed French couple Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Guaranteed is the fact that both Jeanne-Claude (having passed in 2009) and Christo (quie passe just this past May) look on through oversized Christian Dior sunglasses from above in eternal chic happiness as their epitaph effectively transforms the 185 year old limestone icon anchoring the western terminus of the Champs-Elysees into a 164 foot art installation. Enrobed in 75,000 square feet of recyclable silvery blue polypropylene fabric and loosely fastened with 9000 feet of thick red rope, the final result is truly a sight to behold. It’s not too late to book your Air France ticket; but be sure to arrive no later than Oct 3 when the Arc di Triomphe is scheduled to disrobe. Ohhhh the French! Gotta love ‘em.
